This is actually a fantastic deal.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is one of the most picture-perfect destinations in America. With its sweeping mountain views, plentiful wildlife, and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of empty land, it’s a place people can come to find tranquility, peace, and solitude. However, if you really want to up the ante on all that quiet time you could take it one step further by buying this private island located in the northwest corner of the state.
The stunning private island, located in the middle of Foys Lake, comes with 4.29 private acres of land, along with 1,650 feet of its own lake frontage. As its real estate !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! explains, owners can enjoy private swimming, boating, and fishing, right off your very own island.
Don’t worry, there’s plenty of fish to catch, too, as Foys Lake is stocked annually with rainbow trout, according to the listing.
If, by chance, you grow tired of the solitude on your own private island, you could always go explore !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , located just a few miles away. There, you can bike, hike, or take part in other lakeside activities, before retiring for the evening.
The undeveloped island is a blank canvas waiting for a new owner to paint with ideas. And, as a bonus, the island also comes with a one-acre shoreline lot on Foys Lake, which has already been permitted for a septic system and the building site looking toward the island. That means you could always build your dream home on the mainland and keep the island as its pristine Montana land so you can escape the world whenever you please. All you need to do is get in your rowboat and you’ll be there in minutes.
Want in? It can all be yours for $563,000, which is a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for a slice of heaven.

Is Montana whack? I’ve kicked around moving there. I heard the roads are amazing and I love the outdoors. On the other hand, I have never lived anywhere besides a suburb except for college.

I would move there in a heartbeat. I wonder if you could build any permanent structures on the island, or would you have to build on the mainland lot as they suggest as a possibility. I’d imagine if the island could be approved for septic they would’ve gotten it permitted and upped the price.

You could build on the island, it would be costly tho.

I don’t know if the county will permit a 12x12 plywood shed with no windows.

I do not recognize the authority of the county government to prevent me from building on my own property. FREEDOM!

This would buy me a 3 bedroom townhouse in the Greater Toronto Area.
Y’all are spoilt with your breathable air, lack of feces throwing people and affordable housing.

First, that’s obviously Colorado. Montana is a h ellscape no one should move to.
Second, how do you get construction equipment on the island?

I’m drooling! One major problem though. No road, so I won’t be able to have a garage to keep cars. Maybe I’m missing the point of this place

I do actually fancy the idea of moving to Montana, despite never having actually been there.

CP - Once all that snow melts in 2027 the lake will rise 14 feet and you’ll only own a floating dock.

Simple, you build a road to the island.

I think I’ve actually seen floating planes on Foy s lake before. It has a nice approach from the north.

I’d need my private island in a warmer climate so I could daily drive an amphibious sports car.
Montana is beautiful though

This would buy me an RV in Los Angeles because you arent buying a house of any sort for that amount. Maybe a foreclosed crack den in the desert.

I mean, in Toronto, it would be CAD 850k or more.
But the surrounding suburbs/neighbourhoods are more “affordable”.
I imagine LA is the same. Live in Burbank or something, and it’s not I-can-only-live-in-an-RV bad.

Yes. That's the need for the warmer climate. I'm not trying to be in the polar bear club when my one-off fantasy mobile takes on water.
